In order to be tested for the virus, patients must schedule a telemedicine appointment with our healthcare provider first. The telemedicine appointment is necessary to evaluate your symptoms, ensure the best plan of care, and minimize any possible community spread of the Coronavirus if infected.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
The CDC states the following symptoms could be caused by COVID-19:

● Fever

● Chills or shaking with Chills

● Muscle aches or pain

● Headache

● Sore throat

What Should I Do If I Believe I May Have Been Exposed to the COVID-19 Virus?
The health and safety of our patients, employees and community members are our absolute top priority. In times of a health risk, health care providers and the community must work together through open communication in order to help minimize risks as much as possible. If you are exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus or believe you have been exposed to the virus, please call our office at (214) 644-0280 to schedule a telemedicine appointment. Our physicians and midlevel providers will assess if you need testing and guide you regarding the best course of action.

Can I Be Tested at Raintree Healthcare for COVID-19?
We are performing drive-up COVID-19 nasal swab testing. If you have any of the symptoms listed above and wish to have a COVID-19 test, please call (214) 644-0280 or schedule a telemedicine visit through our patient portal. You will be directed to drive to the south end of the clinic. Remain in your vehicle and a nurse will meet you to collect the specimen.

What types of tests do we offer for COVID-19?
Rapid Testing (Nasal swab)

It is possible for the test to miss the virus in an infected individual, so if your provider suspects this is the case, he/she may order a more sensitive test. This test looks specifically for the virus that causes COVID-19. With this in mind, if your test is negative, we still highly recommend that you self-quarantine until you have been symptom-free (not just fever-free) for at least 7 days. If your test is positive for COVID, please follow your provider's medical recommendations and isolate until you have recovered to protest others. If your symptoms get worse, please call our office for a follow up evaluation.

When will I get my results?
Results are same day. Due to PPE shortage, we conduct testing once per day. Once the tests are run, you will be notified of the result through the patient portal, text message, or phone call.

Do I Need a Doctor’s Referral to Be Tested for COVID-19?
SARS COV 2 testing is available for patients who are seen and evaluated at our facility. We are available to evaluate both new and established patients. Testing is only offered as testing supplies remain available to us. We do not currently accept referrals or prescriptions for testing from outside health care providers. If you are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or feel that you were exposed, please call our office at (214) 644-0280 to schedule an appointment.

Can you tell me the cost of a COVID-19 Test?
Many health insurance companies across the country have stated that they will cover the full cost of any testing for COVID-19. However, if you have questions or concerns about your specific insurance plan, it is a good idea to check with your insurance company to learn if it covers the test.
